Stepping stones

We haven't finished our back patio yet and thought the kids needed something to walk on instead of the dirt to get to the trampoline. So, we made some stepping stones that turned out so cute that I decided to share them with you. They will be a great keepsake for later in life and will keep the kids feet more clean.

They are so easy. Go to the craft store and buy a kit that has a mold shape: square, round, stop sign, or flower. It also includes the cement for one stone. You add the water and 1/3 of the mix at a time and stir. When all of it has been mixed well you pour it into the mold. You let is sit for a few minutes then gently push in the little ceramic tiles (purchased separately). A few minutes later you can imprint your hand and write on them. We bought some letters you push into the cement that are easy to read and make it look consistent. Then the stones have to sit for 48 hours untouched. Craft stores also sell extra cement mix to make more stones. It saves a little money from buying more kits but takes more time to make them.
