Birthday fun
I decided that since it's been a month I should probably update our blog. On April 13th it was Jimmie's birthday. The night before we met some friends at the Gateway where we ate at Thaifoon, which was so yummy, and then headed across the street to the Jazz/Nuggets game. It has been years since I've been to a live basketball game so it was fun to see one in person as well as watch the crowd get so upset when a foul is called against any of the Jazz players.
On his birthday we had nice lunch, ate cake and opened presents. By the time you reach age 33 you would assume that the usual birthday gifts for a man would be clothes, movies, and cologne, but not in this house. Jimmie has always loved comic books and so he asked for toys. You can only imagine how excited the kids were to be able to go to the store and pick out the things they would want to give Daddy. The kids were happy with the things they had chosen and Dad was thrilled too. (They just don't understand why he still hasn't taken them out of the boxes and ask every day when they get to play with them.)
Then we got together for my families "monthly birthday party" where we talked, had cake, and watched the boys cheat their way to win at games. (They know that's the only way they can beat the girls.) I don't know if getting together with in-laws was exactly what he would have preferred to do on his birthday, but all in all we had two days of lots of laughs and good times.

Happy Birthday Jimmie!
That is so funny. I love it! Hopefully he shares sometimes, though. Ha ha.
