Happy New Years!

We had such a great New Year's Eve. We invited some friends over to eat, play games, eat more, and play more games. First we played Apples to Apples to break the ice. Then we played Hillarium where everyone has to act out what it says on their cards at the same time. It was so funny to see people acting out things that are completely opposite of their personalities. Plus it's always fun to make a fool of yourself in front of others who are doing it too. The kids had a great time playing together and watching movies. And the house was also much less of a mess than I thought it would be in the end. It was a night full of a lot of laughs, tons of food, and great friends to spend it with.

After everyone else left our good friends Ralph and Brooke stayed the night so we could continue the fun. We finally called it a night of playing games at 3:30 a.m. It has been so long since we stayed up that late. The night just flew and we were having so much fun we lost track of time. But don't worry we won't be doing that again for a long time, our ages caught up to us quickly a few hours later when the kids woke up. (How come no matter how late the kids stay up they are still awake by 7:30 a.m.?) We had a great bacon, eggs and toast breakfast and then sledding off our porch. The kids had such a great time and it was nice that us mom's could stay in the warm house and watch from the window. Then it was onto the games again, first board games and then the Wii. We bought a carnival game for the kids for Christmas but soon discovered some of the games were really hard for us adults. By the end our arms were tired from shaking the remote and we couldn't hold the remote steady for life of us. It was two great days of fun.
