Tagged again...

I was tagged by my cute friend Jen, so here it goes:

The RULES:
A. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.
B. Each player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves.
C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 6 people and posts their names.

Here are six things you may not know about me:
1) There are some foods I can't bring myself to eat. When I was young I would get sick any time I ate a baked potato. We always just thought I was getting sick all the time since my family ate quite a few potato products. Then we noticed it was always happening right after I ate potatoes. (As in within 2 minutes of eating the product I would have to run to the bathroom) So, there went eating potatoes. Every time we have an enrichment dinner I am so worried it will be a potato bar that I always eat something before I go.

I also hate yogurt. During Junior High School I had braces. Each month when I went in to have the wire tightened I had to eat yogurt for a week. I ended up eating so much that I now hate it and won't eat it unless it's Gogurts and they have to be frozen.

2) I have a super glue fetish. (Actually it's not a fetish, it's really just a sanity sustainer.) Jimmie always makes fun of me because I seem to end up super gluing something on almost all of the kids toys. It all started when the kids would come up to me every two minutes with a Star Wars figure or an army guy asking for their weapon to be put back in their hand. So, I started gluing them on, problem fixed, no more losing their weapon. Then it was Lego sets that come with a million pieces where if you lose any the toy is useless. Here is a picture of the 946 piece castle the boys got for Christmas. It took me 2 days and 6 bottles of super glue to assemble, but I guarantee this toy is never going to come apart!

3) Believe it or not I was in a pageant. I was in the Miss Teen Utah pageant when I was a senior in High School. My mom was not the typical obsessed pageant mom putting her child in pageants from the day she was born, but when I was invited to be in it I thought it would be fun. It runs a lot different than the highly televised pageants on t.v. There was no swim suit competition. (Thank goodness) It consisted of the talent competition, runway walk, essay writing (yes, that surprised me too), and two sets of interviews (one on stage and one behind closed doors). I didn't win the Miss Teen title, but I did win an award for the best essay written. Now I know I may not be beauty queen potential, but I can fall back on my writing skills. It did run like any other pageant in the fact that some mom's were all over the male judges and the pushiest mom's daughter won. Here is a picture of my pageant dress that my mom made.

4) I use to have a major crush on Steve Young. Okay, it was more like an obsession. The only reason I would watch all the San Fransisco 49ers games was because he was on the team. I use to tell everyone in college that he would come to Provo, meet me, and want to marry me. This idea slowly died away as I met and fell in love with Jimmie. During my family bridal shower my mom grabbed me and said we needed to go somewhere. I didn't understand why we were leaving the shower during the middle of it, but said alright. (Remember, I still wanted her to pay for the wedding.) We drove down to a sports supply store where there was a large crowd of little boys holding footballs standing in a line. My Mom handed me a picture of me with Steve Young when I was young and said I would probably want it. As I got closer to the front of the line I saw what all the commotion was about, it was Steve Young doing a publicity signing. So here I am, the only adult not standing with a kid waiting to get a signature from the man I had always wanted to marry. He got a good laugh when he saw the old picture of himself and I got his signature and a new picture of us together to keep. I think the whole reason my mom was so insistent on going was the hope of me calling off the wedding to Jimmie and them getting a famous son-in-law. And at that point I realized I was actually marrying the real man I was supposed to. (Now I just have a crush on Wentworth Miller (Michael Schofield from Prison Break), Matt Damon, and Johnny Depp)

5) I hate needles! I have never been too fond of being in pain. When I was in college I had to go in to be tested for Mono. After I had the blood test done, I was waiting in the hallway outside the door of the lab for the results. I heard the technicians start laughing about someone that must have been afraid of needles because the blood sample was full of adrenaline. Then they proceeded to come out and give me my results. The girl looked really embarrassed because she now knew I had been sitting there and heard their comments. I was embarrassed because I really was scared of needles.

I have also had kidney stones twice, but it was especially worse the second time. I had been throwing up from the pain all morning and was quite dehydrated when we finally went to the ER. There was a EMT in training who they asked to give me an I.V. After 5 pokes and his confidence wavering, he asked if the nurse would do it. She tried 6 more times and passed it along to another nurse. After 3 tries she gave up. By this time the head nurse, who proclaimed she can always get it in, came up to me and said she would try since everyone in the ER was now calling me the human pin cushion. After three more tries which meant finally having to put it in my foot they accomplished it. I left the ER after 8 hours with 17 I.V. pricks and bruises all over my arms and foot.

6) I use to dance. I have always loved to dance: ballet, country, ballroom, but my passion was Ballet. I wanted to be a Ballet Dancer when I grew up until one snowy evening all those dreams changed. I was at a school concert in High School with two guys. We were outside waiting for one guys dad to bring the spare key to the car since he locked the keys inside. I grabbed the guys watch and started running away from him. I was wearing shoes that had no tread so when I hit a patch of ice I slid into the concrete step and fell face first on the ground. After having help getting inside, I took off my shoe to find my toe completely purple and swollen. After an examination it was discovered I broke my toe and would probably never be able to put all my weight on it again. Non weight bearing meant no point shoes which meant no more dance. I ended it all by flirting with a guy.

Now it's my turn to choose people to spend all day trying to think of things and blogging about them. I tag Michelle Parker, Debbie, and Erica.

I used to be totally in love with Steve Young, too. Like so obsessed that it was probably a sickness. I finally got over it after meeting him at the NBA Finals. :) Anyways, I was happy to find your blog through Heather's, here is ours if you want it, arinandtroy.blogspot.com. By the way, I really miss having Gavin in my primary class!!!

Wow, GREAT list!! I do remember you telling me about your obsession with superglue. :) I love that! I love the pagaent pictures! Kudos to you for doing that. I tried out for a pagaent once, but they didn't want me. Such a sad story. :) I never knew you danced. That is awesome! I think it's time for a ward talent show. Also, never knew about your potato thing!... How are we friends? I'm from IDAHO!! :)

That was fun to read! I really got a kick out of the super glue obsession. I can just picture you glueing each little piece. Funny!

You poor thing, getting pricked 17 times! Was it because you were so nervous? That is aweful! The most pricks I've gotten at once was 7 and I thought that was bad! You poor thing!

I can totally see you as a ballerina. Have you tried dancing since? I'm trying to convice Ben that ballroom dancing would be fun.
