Out with the old and in with the new...

Every year we see those craft pumpkins you can carve at the craft store and wonder why anyone would ever choose to use those instead of real pumpkins. Well, this year as we were continuing our tradition of carving a pumpkin for each family member we decided whomever invented those craft pumpkins was either brilliant or had lots of kids. It's not like we have doubled our family size, but having one extra pumpkin to carve along with the kids thinking the bigger they get the bigger their pumpkin needs to be too, we realized we have a huge family! So as we begin our new tradition of carving fake pumpkins we apologize to everyone who will get sick of seeing the exact same designs on the pumpkins garnishing our home every October from now on. But just remember it is saving us from cleaning out hundreds of seeds every year, listening to the kids argue over which design they get on their pumpkin and spending hours carving 7 pumpkins. Our kids hate the smell of the pumpkin's insides. Having to remove their own pumpkins guts is their worst part of Halloween. Lincoln sleeping through the whole thing.

Please enjoy the following pictures of pumpkins, they may be the last real pumpkins ever displayed in front of our home.

Your pumpkins were totally the best I saw on Halloween. And, seriously, your house is always such fun on Halloween.

Well no wonder it takes 7 hours to carve the pumpkins! Those are amazing! But I agree with the whole pumpkin carving thing...it's getting old!
