Where has the time gone?
I can't believe I haven't updated our blog since November so I better play catch up.
In November we had Lincoln's baby blessing. We decided to have it at our home since the swine flu was going around our ward. It is the first time we didn't bless a child at church and it felt a little weird. It was much more relaxed than the others and I would recommend it to anyone. We had all day to get the house, food and ourselves ready without the usual running out of the house hoping we didn't forget something and worrying if everything was ready for later. Plus, with each of our other kids we had sacrament meeting last so we had the bad luck of each boy pooping through his blessing outfit before he was even blessed. I have spent way too many blessing days in the bathroom scrubbing out their pants in the sink and trying to dry them under the hand dryer. One of which happened so closely to the time he was going to be blessed that his pants were soaking wet and we ended up sending him up wrapped in his blanket so no one would know he didn't have pants on. With Lincoln we were able to get him dressed ten minutes before the blessing so he looked perfect. It was much more intimate to just have our family and a set of close friends in attendance without all the usual sacrament meeting noises.
With the blessing comes blessing pictures so here is Lincoln in his cute blessing outfit. (We don't bless our boys in white because Jimmie thinks it looks too feminine. I have to agree since they look so cute in their little tiny church outfits!)

I love doing the home blessing! It rocks. I'm glad you had such a wonderful day. Maybe when this icky weather warms up, we'll run into each other at the park?
we blessed Sydney at home, would have to agree, it is much nicer!
