Nature Hike

One of our favorite things to do is go hiking in the canyon. After church we packed a few snacks, grabbed our sweatshirts and hopped in the car. We decided to try a different trail than we usually take which is steeper and quite a bit longer. The kids did great and loved collecting all the fall colored leaves along the way. We had a little bit of a late start so we didn't have enough time to reach the top where you can see over the whole valley before we had to turn around and head back down the mountain. There is something about nature that is just so peaceful and it seems like all the normal worries aren't so important. When we were hiking we passed an area that was wet with dew and Jayden turned to us and said, "Yuck, what smells stinky?" Jimmie answered, "That's nature." When we got home we used the leaves we had collected to make cute fall pictures to hang in the kids rooms.

I loved those art projects. What a super great idea!

I agree with you 100% that there is something about being out in nature that takes all your cares away. We love the mountains so much. Our favorite trip every year is up to Snowbird for a week. The kids love it every bit as much as Disneyland.
