Rewards aren't all good
We had gone to Chuck E. Cheese and everything was bliss until a couple days later when the sickness started. It began with our kids getting 102 degree fevers Wednesday morning followed by a runny nose and cough. Gavin did have one added symptom, pain in his ear. Off we went to the doctor, yes, it was an ear infection so we walked out with our prescription in hand. By the end of the next day all of Gavin's symptoms were gone, yet the others showed no improvement.
The other kids still had fevers on Saturday so we went back into the doctors office again. Of course we couldn't see our regular doctor at this point and had to settle with another one who told us it was probably just viral and could take as long as four more days to get over. Kids having fevers that high for that long is just not normal. Their fevers finally broke Sunday night. From this experience I don't think I believe that everything viral is not helped by medicine. The one child on the medicine was fever free, cough less and his runny nose was gone 24 hours later, while the others had no energy to do anything but see how many of our movies they could watch in one week.
I think Viral should have two definitions in the dictionary:
1. of, pertaining to, or caused by a virus.
2. The term used by a doctor to tell you he/she is going to send you home to deal with the symptoms on your own for the duration of the illness.

I love your new definition a "viral" this is so true. I have only taken Kennedy to the Dr. 2 times for being sick and they said the same thing to me. It drives me crazy!
ha ha! I love it. I'm sorry that they were so sick, though! It's hard to find a doctor who is always willing to do what it takes to make your kids better! I am really lucky, I found that in my aunt. She is my pediatrician and she's awesome! I have seen doctors who make me feel the same way as this, though.
So sorry you guys were so sick! I hear you on the 'viral' thing. It's frustrating.
hope you guys get better soon. Westley had it last week but got medicine!
Having to go the doctor on Saturday is the worst. The wait is horrible, sitting in Instacare with some germy stranger who has a runny nose and hacky cough is a nightmare, and the doctors usually just tell you it's a virus but if it doesn't get better, to go see your regular doctor. Thanks, doc.
I'm glad you are all feeling better though!
