Mother's Day Rocked!

It all began with breakfast in bed. What is better than waking up to eggs, toast, and the half cup of juice that's left after the kids have climbed up the stairs spilling it all the way? After eating breakfast I followed the trail of juice back downstairs to see where my family began their morning. Then the kids were there to shower me with the cute things they had made at school which is my favorite part about Mother's Day.

Alyssa made a beautiful book about why she thinks I'm the best mom in the whole world.
Jayden made a book about the things he like to do with me.

Gavin made a picture frame for a picture of us.

Then off to church we went where the kids filled out a questionnaire to see how well they know their Mom. It made me laugh so I have included the questions and the real answers followed by the kids responses below.

1. How old is your mom? Real answer: 30
Jayden: 30
Gavin: 20 (I hope I'm not 20 with four kids and the oldest is 8 1/2)
Paxton: 5 (Please tell me that he thinks 5 is old)

2. What is your Mom's favorite color? Purple
Jayden: Purple
Gavin: Purple and Pink
Paxton: Blue

3. What is your most favorite meal your Mom cooks? Navajo Tacos (All the kids eat them without complaining)
Jayden: Cookers (I have no clue either)
Gavin: Hamburgers (Jimmie cooks those)
Paxton: No response. (I guess he doesn't like anything I cook :(

4. What do you like to do with your Mom? I thought they would say play games since we play board games with them all the time.
Jayden: Go to swim
Gavin: Play Barbie's with her (In my defense, I have a Barbie that plays a Mom and he is all 20 pets she has to have. He isn't actually playing with a Barbie.)
Paxton: At this point Paxton must have lost interest because the rest of his was blank.

5. What is your Mom's favorite thing to do?
Jayden: Sleep (I think because every morning my response is I'll be down in a second as I close my eyes and fall back to sleep)
Gavin: Take me to school (I didn't realize he knew that I do enjoy that, it's three hours of having only one child at home.)

6. What color of eyes does your Mom have? Green with yellow around the pupil.
Jayden: Blue and green (At least he remembered they were two colors)
Gavin: Blue (I'm wondering if he's actually ever looked into my eyes at this point)

7. What's your favorite thing about your Mom?
Jayden: Chocolate (That's my favorite part too)
Gavin: That she cooks (How does the saying go: the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. I guess it has been proven)

Then it was time for my Mother's Day gift from Jimmie. Usually I ask for things like clothes, home decor, supplies for hobbies, all the regular stuff. This year I don't know if I'm trying to prove to myself that I'm younger than I am, but I asked for Rock Band. If you haven't played, you need to. You can play guitar, the drums or sing with 1 to 4 players where you go on tour playing in a band. Be careful though, it you are too bad your band gets booed and kicked off the stage. It is a lot of fun and we spent the rest of the day playing it as a family. I hope our neighbors didn't suffer too much since we had the windows wide open as we were singing our hearts out.

I think the best part of Mother's day is getting the fun gifts the kids make.

How cute are those little answers. I got a good chuckle out of Jayden's favorite thing that you make being "cookers." That's funny stuff. I'm glad you had a great mother's day. Rock Band ROCKS!
