Visitation Rights are Over
When we decided to purchase our home we didn't think it would be too hard for Jimmie to find a job in Utah. It has been practically impossible for him to find something he would enjoy doing in this state. (I think he's just too dang picky!) Everyone that knows him well knows this is true!
Then one day he was sitting in the airport talking to me on the phone when an man who seems to not mind his own business was listening in our conversation. (How rude.) He was polite enough to wait until Jimmie was done talking to me first to inform him of his listening in. He asked Jimmie if he worked for Disney and Jimmie stared at him oddly as he said yes. The guy happens to be a V.P. of Technology for Disney's game company in Utah. Wow, what a coincidence. Jimmie's thought was "want to give me a job?" He asked Jimmie what he does and so he proceeded to tell him in artistic language. (It is amazing that artists can do something wonderful like make a full length animated movie but they can't use words known in the dictionary such as painterly. What the heck does painterly mean?) Oh well, so what he has been doing for Disney's Feature department is exactly what they are looking for someone to do in the gaming company.
Two months later after a 4 hour interview, tons of "remember me" emails, and "where are we at" phone calls they realized the only way to get him to stop was to hire him. :) But truly, he received a job offer which I forced him to accept and now I can no longer claim that we are "separated" like I have for the past year and a half. (Can I claim being separated on taxes?)
We are really glad he will be here to see the kids accomplishments, we will no longer get sea sickness from watching the video tapes of their school events, and Paxton will no longer think his Daddy works at the airport. The only down side of the whole thing is now we'll have to eat all the food groups instead of just eggo waffles, Mac & Cheese, and hot dogs for dinner. Oh well, it's worth the sacrifice.

Finally! I am happy for you guys.
That is so awesome you will have your husband home. I am so happy for you guys.
That is really excellent news for you guys!
Congrats! I'm so happy for you guys!
What is wrong with waffles, Mac and Cheese and hot dogs? LOL!
Congrats!
Wow, how exciting! I am so happy for you guys. He will get used to the 'quick' meals. Jake is starting to, or else he just gets his own dinner!
Yeah, the Nelson family are as one again! We are so happy for you guys, does this mean that we will actually get to see Jimmie again? Will you still come to girls night, now that you won't be going crazy alone all week? You'd better!!
Congrats! I hope he ends up loving his new job here. I'm glad you guys get to be reunited again. Do you still get to go to work parties in Disneyland??
I know what you mean about husbands using technical work terms. Half the things my hubby says when he's talking about work are WAY over my head. :) Also, I kind of like the word painterly. Don't know what it means, but I wish I did, so I could add it to my faily vocabulary.
PS, That should say "daily" vocabulary. :)
It's about time! I can't imagine how you did it all this time!
Kim,
I loved this post! I admire you for being such a supportive wife and good mom! I'm so glad it "eventually" all worked out for your family. Congratulations!
Kim I am so excited for you. It has been a long time coming. You may find that you really don't like eachother after being apart so long. j/k We always tease my mom that is why she could stay married to my dad so long (he is a pilot) and was gone a lot of our growing up. However we turned out ok. With a lot of phone calls. We didn't have the luxury of the video cam that you have. Well I am happy for you and your kids you will love it and if you ever do need a breather come on over. Thank you also for covering for me with the gingerbread houses.
