I've been tagged!

What was the best thing you cooked last week?

Believe it or not, I did actually cook something that wasn't in the toaster or microwave once, maybe twice last week. I made Navajo Tacos which are scones with chili, lettuce, and cheese on top. They are so yummy and I always make a lot of extra scones so we can dip them in powdered sugar for dessert.

If money and babysitting were no object where would you go and with who?

I would choose my cute hubby, Jimmie to go on a trip with. My next door neighbors went on a Mediterranean Cruise for 18 days during the summer and I was so jealous. I would love to do that or go on a Caribbean cruise. I've never been on a cruise and would love to go as long as we don't end up being one of those stories where everyone on the ship gets food poisoning! I would also love to go to Hawaii since I've never been.

Five things you were doing 10 years ago?

I was attending BYU. My best friend Michelle and I thought we were the coolest people at BYU and always had tons of fun. We use to sing Opera as loud as we could until someone would shout at us to shut up. We'd also go to the mall a lot and have ugliest outfit contests. We'd go into a department store and choose the 10 ugliest outfits we could find. Then we'd go into the dressing room and one by one try them on and show each other. Who ever had the majority of the ugliest outfits won. I am embarrassed to say that I actually ended up buying some of the things I originally thought were hideously ugly on the hanger.

I worked at the M.T.C. as a receptionist in the medical office.

I was dating Jimmie and got Mono from him even though he still denies it to this day. But I wasn't kissing anyone else at that time!

Five things on your to do list!

Make neighborhood Christmas gifts, do some Christmas shopping, do the laundry, do the dishes, and help the kids with homework.

Five favorite snacks?

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream, love it! Granola bars, Quaker breakfast bars or cookies (they're both good), nachos with real cheddar cheese, Chips Ahoy cookies and milk, and French Onion Sun Chips. (Sorry, that's more than 5 but all of those are really yummy)

Five bad habits?

Drinking way too much Pepsi and not enough water, being late for church (sitting in the foyer really isn't that bad), forgetting to put sunscreen on my kids when I take them to the park, procrastinating mopping my kitchen floor when it needs it, and going to bed really late every night.

Five favorite foods?

I love pizza and wish Little Caesars was closer to our house. I love fettuccine alfredo from the Olive Garden (Jimmie hates Olive Garden so he buys me gift certificates so I can go by myself, but that's not fun!) The Chicken Caesar Wraps at Red Robin are so good. I also love lasagna and manicotti but they have to be the ones I make.

Top five places I've been?

I have traveled a lot in the continental U.S., but right now it just doesn't seem like they're the most interesting places. In high school I went to Washington D.C. with other high school kids from all over the U.S. to learn about the government. It was amazing to see all that was there. We went to the Holocaust museum which was really sad to see what actually happened and the remnants of it. We went to the Vietnam wall on memorial day and saw Vice-President Gore giving a speech. We also went to the capitol building and learned how the supreme court actually works.

I've also been to Canada where we went to the Calgary Stampede, a big fair and rodeo. I got separated from my parents and like the responsible child at age 7 that I was, I asked a worker there to help me find my parents. They took me to the lost child area where my dad found me 30 minutes later. It wasn't until 2 hours after that that they let me leave with him. They thought he was trying to kidnap me from my mom and interrogated him until they were convinced otherwise.

Niagara Falls was also neat to see and the church sites in Nauvoo. And of course southern California, who doesn't love hanging out in San Diego or Anaheim!

Five favorite memories?

The day I got engaged. I flew down to California to visit Jimmie the day after Christmas. His family was sick with the flu and I got it. I was so sick that I slept most of the day on New Years Eve. We had plans to hang out with some friends that night so we went even though I don't remember half of it. They have cats and I'm allergic to cats. To help, they gave me a Benadryl. We ate dinner, played a couple games, and then decided to watch a movie. I slept through the whole rest of the party. When we went back to his sisters house there were a bunch of balloons all over the room. He said I had to spell out four words to see if my love was true. Remember, I am way sick and on Benadryl at the time, so I try to spell Kim, I love you. I searched and searched but couldn't find a K. After Jimmie is laughing at how ditsy I am acting, I try to spell Will you marry me? It worked. Then he pulled out a ring and waited for an answer. I asked, "Are you serious?" He stared at me surprised, then got down on one knee and asked me in person and I said yes.

The day I got married. I was glad to finally be getting married after a 9 month engagement. I looked great, the flowers were perfect, the picture turned out great, the weather was nice. Almost everything was perfect except that my nephew stuck his hand in our wedding cake right before the reception. And after the reception when we ran to get in our truck it was decorated with hot pink streamers. They had decided to poor dish soap all over the truck so that when we washed it it would suds up all over the place. One of the streamers touched my dressed dying the front of it hot pink! I went to my moms house to change, left her a note telling her to take it to the dry cleaners in the morning, and cried all the way to the hotel. It was an amazing day with a sad ending.

The day each of our kids were born. (Except Paxton's was more tramatic than I would have liked. His heart rate fell and they couldn't get it back up which resulted in an emergency C-Section.) It's amazing the feeling you get when you welcome a new baby into the world. Just holding it in your arms for the first time is priceless.

It is now my turn to pick someone to spend half their day answering questions as I have. I tag Kysha and Jenn Bledsoe. You guys are it, so get typing.

Ok, so you are making me look bad that you are starting on your neighbor Christmas gifts already. I probably won't start mine until about Dec.20th. :) Also, when I went to Canada, the people at the border questioned my dad like CRAZY because they thought he was kidnapping me too. It must be a Canada thing. Good for them I say. Oh, and if you ever need cruising buddies to go with you on your Mediterranean Cruise... give us a call. We'd be up for it anytime!

I laughed when I read your bad habits. I drink coke, not pepsi, but we do usually get to sit with you in the foyer! My kitchen floor is my WORST hated job, and Jake and I rarely go to bed before midnight. Ha ha, we are more alike than I realized!
